Your timing belt (or chain) keeps the camshaft(s) and crankshaft in sync. The rubber belt needs to be inspected regularly and replaced at regular intervals (around 60,000 miles or upon manufacturer's specifications. Chains must be adjusted and replaced as necessary.

If your belt or chain breaks, you could be in for some expensive repairs. It is easier and cheaper to inspect and replace when necessary.

Timing belt replacement and adjustment requires knowledge and tools that we have here at AMERICAN. It is important to replace your belt or chain in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations. Belt or chain failure can lead to engine failure and expensive repairs.
